Remember last summer?

Magical

And miserable,

Enchanting

And exacting,

Restful

And restrictive,

Rejuvenating

And painstakingly cruel.

How can we have one

Without the other?

Where sans suffering

Can one tether to earth

And fly through the universe?

Why do we expect

Summer without winter;

They go together–

Remember?
