No. 5 - The Symphony

Sitting here I am taken by the symphony of a hundred sounds

Chirping of birds

Sudden movements in the water

Chittering and chattering

Whistling of cicadas

Knocking of wood peckers

Near and far

Far and wide

The hustling and bustling mimics

Dad at work

Mom in the kitchen

Me at the computer

Then comes the fluttering of wings

The rhythm section of nature’s song

How can I help but sing along?

All I offer is gentle conversation

The scratch of my pen on the page

My heart’s resonance with new melodies ringing

Or perhaps the music was there the whole time

And I am only just now listening

To the symphony
