No. 32 - Heaven's Song
The quarter century dawned
As the heart within her longed
For the days of passing
To be everlasting,
But she could not yet hear heaven’s song
All clearly.
So she kept on listening
And prayed that her key wasn’t wrong.
For she sang what she knew,
While her suspicions yet grew
That the melody was never-ending.
So what came of the dove
That listened for love?
Critics say she’s eternally grieving.
But perk up your ears for a hum–the sound
Has shocked some.
Dare I say, this very day
She is hearing.
