The sun caught my shadow

In a terrible flight

I stood there in place

While my soul on the heights

Dared not look down

For a second at most

But the moment was thrilling

And brought my mind to the coast

Where the waves upon rocks

Crash, splash, and play

As you did in the water

That marvelous day

When the bus stops and long walks

Carried us away

To islands and highlands

May we again find them

And stay
